Empanadas with spicy filling
Ingredients for 24 pieces
500 g white flour
3 dl water
0.80 dl vegetable oil (e.g. rapeseed oil)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp turmeric
200 g Glarner Grüessli
Oil for frying (or an egg for the oven version)
Here’s how
Quickly knead flour, water, oil, salt and turmeric together into a smooth dough. Let rest a little.
Form 24 balls, roll them out flat. Place a teaspoon of Glarner Grüessli on each of the dough rounds. Brush all around with water and close well.
Fry in hot oil until the batter bubbles and the empanadas are golden. Alternatively, the empanadas can be brushed with egg and baked in the oven.
